Running Dreams of running.

All my dreams - the ones I remember - are about running? Exhilarating runs with banked corners, frightening naked running, running on paved roads with increasing pace that is frightening me for some reason. Wierd stuff. Arm-chair psychology anyone? Engage.

Woke up an hour back. Should I shave or head for some dim sum? Can't do both obviously...

Lunch with friends at Thai noodle Guay Theaw

(download)

At least half my meals when I used to live in Thailand consisted of Guay Theaw - or Thai noodle soups. Very distinct in flavor and ingredients from the Chinese variety or other SE Asian noodles soups.
In the 3 years since I moved to Toronto, I have craved for Guay Theaw and would console myself with Thai instant noodles or 'mama'. I haven't come across a restaurant that serves Guay Theaw in Toronto so far.
No longer. A Thai friend pinged me last week telling me of a new place called Thai Noodles (thainoodle.ca) and we met up there for lunch today. This place did not disappoint. Most of the clientele was Thai when we went to eat today and it is run by a Sweet Thai lady who obviously missed this most common of Thai street food from back home.
It was sublime.
I had Guay Theaw nam tok and Guay Theaw Bamee haeng (a customized version of Guay Theaw Tom yum gai). Pics attached.

Go there now So that this place stays in business and I can make it a regular stop on my weekly restaurant list!!

Menu options in the gallery posted with this post.

The healing hand

This talk by Dr. Abraham Verghese is a must listen - as much for what he is saying as for how poetically he says it.

Thank you

It is at these times that I lean on what little Dhamma I practice. It is time to be mindful, Mindful coder. If one does not remember death, one does not remember Dhamma. This is a time for Dhamma.

Steve is once said to have said "Life is brief,  and then you die,  you know?, And we’ve all chosen to do this with our lives. So it better be damn good. It better be worth it.”

Fuck, it was. Fuck, you are gone.
